Elia Martell was a Dornish princess and the wife of Rhaegar Targaryen and mother of their children. When Robert Baratheon led his rebellion for the Iron Throne, King Aerys kept her in King's Landing to ensure her family's commitment to the Targaryen side. When Robert's army triumphed, Elia was raped and killed by Gregor Clegane; her children were murdered as well.
