Joffrey resembles his mother Cersei in both looks and comportment, in part because he was ignored by King Robert most his life. Over-indulged and cowardly, he has a cruel streak, particularly when it comes to his betrothed, Sansa Stark. To everyone's surprise, he decided to order her father's execution, despite a prior agreement to send him to the Wall.
